The purpose of S.T.E.P. (Strategies to Elevate People) is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the poor by mobilizing the Christian churches in Montgomery to work with the poor so that people are elevated and poverty is eliminated for the glory of God. First Baptist is one of twenty-eight participating churches and provides space for the S.T.E.P. Foundation office.
