Exploring Membership

If you have questions about church membership, please call any of our ministerial staff members.

The next Membership Information Class is Sunday, April 30 @ 12:15 PM in the fellowship hall. This class explains what is involved in becoming effective members of First Baptist Montgomery. It is led by our pastor, Jay Wolf, and is an excellent opportunity to ask questions and make new friends. We invite you to be our guest for lunch and discover how to become a part of the First Family. For more information about this class or to register, please call Will Spivey at 241.5133 or 320.0332.

At First Baptist Montgomery, we recognize the need for a formal membership.
We ask you to commit to membership for three reasons:
  1. A Biblical Reason: Christ is committed to the church.
  2. A Practical Reason: It defines who can be counted on. Membership identifies our family.
  3. A Personal Reason: It produces spiritual growth. The New Testament links accountability to spiritual growth. You cannot be accountable when you are not committed to any specific church family.
At First Baptist Montgomery, we simply ask our members to do what the Bible clearly teaches. These responsibilities are shared in the Membership Covenant:
  1. I will protect the unity of my church
  2. I will share the responsibility of my church
  3. I will serve the ministry of my church
  4. I will support the testimony of my church
