“In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD,
make me dwell in safety.”  —  Psalm 4:8

A time in my life when I feel so much peace is when we are leaving the Christmas Eve service here at First Baptist Church. To me, it seems as if I have been wrapped in a warm blanket of love and joy. For a brief time it seems as if all is right with the world. We have put aside feelings of animosity as we reflect on the Savior’s birth. The words, Sleep in heavenly peace, from the hymn, Silent Night come to my mind and I think about the peace that little baby brings into my life.

Activity:

Sing together the first verse of Silent Night. Talk about a dark sky and the light that comes from the stars and how the light from God brings peace.

Prayer:

Lord, we thank you that just as Your Son came into a world of unrest and fighting, so He comes into our world today and brings His peace. Amen.

Merry Christmas!
