“To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches
of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.” — Colossians 1:27
Every Christmas morning our two children, Lindsay and Patrick wait at the top of the staircase until we tell them it is okay to come down from their rooms to the den. We have learned to put masking tape at the top of the stairwell to remind them not to come down until everything is ready. This heightens their anticipation for the impending opening of presents and celebration of the birth of Jesus. Christmas is one of the Cleveland’s favorite times of the year!
Everyone gets excited about something. For you or for your family, it may be a family reunion, a vacation, a new school or a tradition that means something very special to you. Since everyone is different, your family traditions are probably unique. I encourage you to celebrate your times together as a family, whether large or small. Activity:
As we anticipate celebrating the birth of Jesus, each of you take a few moments and tell each other what you have enjoyed most this past year. Also, tell each other what you are looking forward to the most during this Christmas season. Finally, talk about the things for which you are most thankful.
Prayer:
Our Father, thank you for sending us Your only son, Jesus. Be with us as we celebrate His birth. Thank You that Jesus died for our sins and that He rose again so that we might live in heaven for all of eternity. Amen.
Merry Christmas! God Bless You! Ed, Sharon, Lindsey and Patrick Cleveland
